    Help identifying breeds?

Yeah, that's why we felt so bad for them, and didn't realize quite how bad they were until we were on our way home... We've messaged the seller now, and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the plan of action! To check the crops in the morning, do we just push against it gently? What exactly am I...

    Help identifying breeds?

The silkie mix I haven't seen eat as much, she's been much more calm, though I think she probably ate something...?

    Help identifying breeds?

I just did just in case haha. We haven't checked their crop yet, that was next on our list. From what i've seen of their droppings, they're either normal, or a little on the watery side. Both that look sick have actually been eating well! Is that a good sign? We're considering messaging the...

    New chickens to flock, worms?

So we got three new chickens today. When we went to see the options of chickens, we found there to be around 60-70 chickens in one small shed. We felt so awful for them that we bought three to try and give them a better life. Once we were driving away we noticed the white one was sneezing a lot...

    Help identifying breeds?

Should we separate the silkie from the other two to try and keep it from being infected? They were all in a very confined space pre us getting them, so I don't know that it would make a difference.

    Help identifying breeds?

Thanks everyone! We do have other flock, but we're keeping these separate for a while. There were so many poor birds when we went to look at them that we felt like we needed to try and help some of them, so we're not surprised they're probably sick. Any suggestions on how to diagnose?

    Help identifying breeds?

So my sister and I bought three new chickens from some people nearby today. They had a LOT of different chickens and breeds in their small barn (really a shed), and couldn't really tell us what was what. We know that one chicken is a Silkie (though we're not sure boy or girl), and we can't ID...

    Duckling eyes stuck closed...?

Oh yes, we learned so much despite everything, and I will, thank you! No other ducklings, the little one was the only one who made it all the way, but we have 3 adult ducks and 3 adult chickens to keep us company in the meantime!

Duckling broke yolk sac outside of egg, won't settle.

Hi, it's okay, someone replied in a different thread that i made. Sadly though, she just passed away a few hours ago... We think she just lost the strength to fight.

Hey guys, thank you so much for the replies and support. Our little duckling just passed away... I think she lost the strength to fight.

    Duckling eyes stuck closed...?

It looks fully dried up and crusted (the yolk and umbilical), I don't think it's fallen off, but she's also stopped picking at it.

    Duckling eyes stuck closed...?

I don't right now, but I can try to get one. We're worrying she's getting weaker cause she'll only drink the water, she won't take any food in whichever form we try to give it to her. (She's making that noise, and sleeping a lot more.)
