Thank Thank you for this great response. Don't be so hard on yourself regarding expectations and hatching. I was totally surprised when I had some pipping going on as I was uncertain how long the female (sitting on the ravine) had been out there sitting. The two males and female free range and...

    New babies

Thank you regarding the response. I know they are a bit more vunerable and the mortality rate is high among chicks. I envisioned extending a shed previously used by the goats. Not sure what size wire. I have 1//4 inch covering shavings in the tub which is working great to keep shavings out of...

Any recommendations on best colors to breed to with my 6 Peafowl?

I read with great interest all of these threads. I have four peachicks that are a week old inside of my house. Mom is white and Dad is India Blue. I'm thinking I will have India blue split? And if one of the birds is a peahen and mates with the India blue I have a 50% chance of getting another...

It's tragic when it happens. They are very vulnerable birds.

You are hysterical. Pinless Peppers for Tractor shoppers. Well, it won't matter much anymore. Daughter asked me to leave. So I will. I will miss my ladies and Sim Jim and my incubated trauma girls. And my nine ducks. Three peacocks, and I guess if the peacock eggs hatch she can care for those...

    One hen bullying new pullets

Had never heard of them. If I put them on these crazy roosters will there be less chaos? I've got chicken mania going on right now. And if my daughter will not deal with this situation soon (who bought the open run birds) I'm going to go nuts. I had a nice peaceful flock. Now this insanity...

They look hard to put on. And a bit crazy. Are your birds pecking at each others eyes? I have a hat that says chaos coordinator. LOL

    Dust bath?

Thank you so much. I have not candled my five eggs yet. They have been in the incubator seven days and I think she was sitting on them for about seven. So two more weeks. What kind of reptiles? Do you feed them any raw beef?
