well i think my chickens are mixed up i bought them about this time last year and they got pretty good at laying and got really great throughout the winter and what happens?....our first real week of spring and they all give out! i went from 15 to 17 eggs a day to maybe 4 nd i have 23 chickens...

i'm a relatively new chicken owner i have 18 hens and one rooster.first off he's a welsummer and 5 1/2 months old give or take a week he's skiddish and doesn't like to be handled like the hens i have but i have yet to hear him crow and was wondering if any of you have any opinions on this...
youy know i've heard that myth all my life that hens won't lay eggs without a rooster....unfortunatlely it wasn't till recently that i found otherwise....i wonder where that started from.

i found this recipe in a book by gail damerow she's very inteligent and puts things in laymen's term without all the mumbo jumbo others do that you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out otherwise you get frusterated and like me give up also most are commercial recipes and quite large and...
