Help please, my favorite rooster is sick, 1 other hen has died, don't know what to do

I've just been through respiratory illness in my flock that I accidentally introduced via a sick bird, doing a forum search for a few phrases of the symtoms or just general words brought up a wealth of information in various past posts with lots of links to websites with excellent information. I...

alas! I must cull my entire flock..... :(

thanks all! I had thought about medicating but after a big read up and chats to other local chicken keepers I decided to cull and start again, and it is done now so no turning back. :( We decided to err on the side of caution and send the goose that was living in the pen off to the big pond in...

No hatchery stock here! These are from a local breeder, I didn't really want the Rock but I'm a little too soft I guess, I also came home with a goose 'cause he needed a home too. Hahaha! I'll get a better pic of the wyandottes, I would be ecstatic if they are both pullets. :)

ah, bugger. I was pretty sure he was a he, but I think I was in denial. ;) Such a shame to put him in the stock pot, perhaps I will let him grow a little and try swap or sell him at the local poultry auctions. Thanks for the help.

is this RIR cross REALLY a hen?!

Hi there folks, I got this bird in a pair (of pullets) sold as a RIR X Welsummer. Just wondering if she might be a rooster? She is a huge bird, about a third bigger than the other of the two and has been having stare-offs with my rooster, but no crowing. I can't remember exactly but I think...

Hi there folks, Have had these three buddies for a while, they are about 3-4 months old. I'm pretty sure there is one pullet one cockerel in the wyandotte duo. I have been agonising over whether the rock is a cockerel or not, could someone please put me out of my misery!! ;) Thanks!
