Thank you for your comment. It is quite small so like you say I think it will be concentrated on these few eggs. Very excited to see how they turn out once she is a bit older :)
She’s so funny, I adopted her from a rescue centre and don’t know very much about her but think she might be an older girl bless her heart. She lays the most lovely white eggs though :)
Mine absolutely love the being out whatever the weather. At first I was concerned too but as long as they are happy and have to choice to go somewhere dry I just leave them to it. I have come home to a very muddy silkie today
I do wonder that too. The vet put a needle in it to see if it could be drained as an abscesses but there was nothing to come out. When it was larger she was struggling to drink but now the swelling has gone down she seems to be acting normal again

I am hoping to get a Brahma pullet soon so this thread has been really helpful.
My only concern is whether their feathered feet will cause me problems living in a very rainy UK. I currently have a mixed flock of a silkie hen and cockerel and 2 Marans.

Thank you for replying. I will try that!! I am a bit more concerned now as she had discharge from her mouth after drinking but hopefully the Benadryl will work
