My geese live with our free range chickens, They tend to sleep outside unless its bad weather. I leave the door to the coop open.
They will need some water deep enough for them to put their heads in so they can clear their nostrals. This is very important. I know lots of people use childrens...
If it was me, i would treat them all. I had 5 babies once and they all died because i treated them too late, about 3 weeks later my rooster showed signs so i took him out and treated him. He survived then another couple of weeks later a hen showed signed etc so i treated them all and had no more...
I have had some before that show the classic rattling and gurgling and no sneezing or coughing etc, believe me it will come in time. I made the mistake twice of not treating it.
My advice is get some Doxycyline as soon as ant treat them all at once. That way ones that have it yet are not showing...
Ok, so as you can see i have more.........This time no crushing of eggs, no rush to the incubator etc.
The biggest surpeise is these three above. I have only ever hatched out yellow ducklings. Dad is white and mum is either white or grey/blue white ( they shared nests at the begining) They were...
Thankyou Gen 9,
All but one duck seem to be fine as the day has gone on. I think i am very lucky. They must have been suffering with the fumes from it. I did flavor the water with a little sugar and they have all seemed to respond. I really thought my baby giant Brahmas were going to die...
Sorry, i didn´t mean you are crazy, more of a phrase i use. No hurt or upset intended.
When one of mine picked up symptoms of a cold my vet here told me to treat them all. He told me that culling Should wait until there is no other option. He told me that a lot of the colds that chickens pass...
Are you crazy?? You don´t need to cull them. Mine have had this before and i treat with 5 days of an antibiotic and then 3 days with vitamins. You can treat it really easy.
You can even treat them all even if they are not showing any symtoms yet. Just speak to a local vet for some advice or to...
Just leave her to it.
ducks like to make their nests slowly. She won´t sit on them fully until she has laid her full clutch. Sometimes they can end up with a lot of eggs in them. When she feels ready she will sit and then believe me you wont be able to move her. She will start hissing and...
THANK YOU WHITEWINTERWOLF,
When i put them to bed last night i noticed that some of the ones that seemed bad were actually a bit better and some that had seemed fine were getting it. I am hoping and thinking it might just be a very short term sort of reaction. Its morning here but still dark...
Sadly i lost my baby goose and then a baby turkey, Both seems to have the same thing yet were in different pens. I treated them both with antibiotics and vitamins.
I am going to wait a while before i get any more. Its so sad when they are so young. One day fine and the next all drunk like a nero...
