    The wire confuses the vision and they tend to explore the edges which puts them in the corners of the trap

    It would work, just place it along something like the wall or fence so that it funnels an exploring snake into it and it won't get out, Best of luck with the rattler..

    I made a waterer for my pigs like that the nipple was cheap at TSC and the barrel was free, I sold it years later, those things last forever and so easy to make I would wrap the barrel in pipe heat tape plugged into a thermostat cube so it only comes on when it is about to freeze

    Back then they called us Greenhorns, "chechocko's " LOL I was only there for two winters so was still one when I left I imagine :)

    That would depend on the breed of blacksnake, (several breeds of snake are called Blacksnakes) an egg might work for most breeds of them but, something alive and warm like a small rodent or (shudder) one of your chicks would attract just about any blacksnake or copperhead, I quit using the eggs...

    The place I bought the tanning kit from was Tandy Leather but, I can't find that they sell a tanning kit anymore, I was going to link the site but looks like will have to shop somewhere else for the supplies to do the tanning next time.
