I think you're right- although I hatched in my Brinsea 20 so it's pretty reliable... only problem was they pipped a day early (internally) so I had to hurry them into lockdown... hadn't brought my trusty j-cloths into school otherwise the floor would have been less prone to...
I totally agree, however I had limited resources and as other eggs had pipped I couldn't keep the incubator open long enough or I'd have risked them all.

Here is one of my partridge silkies. 'She' has looked very pullet-like since being a chick and is now 4 months old. I def have a partridge roo from the same hatch who looks very roo-ish.

Wow that's really interesting! They may have come from my white hen (who's masking a partridge gene) but dad is def black, not extended though.
Totally wasn't expecting whites! Really pleased as we lost our white hen but a bit bummed... If they were blue we were looking into mating for splash...
I'm so proud of them- we thought we'd get all black so to end up with such gorgeous colours..! A couple had problems- one pipped the wrong end but I got her out eventually... Cutest batch of chicks I've ever hatched!

But some look like this
On first glance when still wet I assumed they too were partridge. However they have dark grey feet, blonde head & vent and the rest is tan coloured with the odd splatter of black...
