Hi guys! I just hatched out my latest chicks (silkies). 3x are clearly partridge...

But some look like this

On first glance when still wet I assumed they too were partridge. However they have dark grey feet, blonde head & vent and the rest is tan coloured with the odd splatter of black. They don't have the sharp markings like the partridges do.

Any idea?!

I'm so proud of them- we thought we'd get all black so to end up with such gorgeous colours..! A couple had problems- one pipped the wrong end but I got her out eventually... Cutest batch of chicks I've ever hatched!

Now I dunno what they are! They're sprouting white feathers and getting lighter... Any ideas?

Any ideas welcome!!!

Thanks for replying :)
Black male (not BB as he has a red tinge to his mane) and either a partridge hen or lavender.

Those chicks look like they'll be white to me. On the Silkie thread, another member posted up pics of a blue chick that ended up turning into a white hen. If that's the case, more than one bird in the pen those chicks came from is carrying recessive white.
