Thanks everyone for your help! The stripes were throwing me off a bit. I’m not too disappointed, the sex-linked ones I’ve had in the past had sweet temperaments.
Yeah I know what you mean about mite damage, but this is definitely different, they’ve only recently left my house and usually takes a while for the damage to show. She’s had them since a few weeks old, at first I though they were tufts of down that would fall off, but then I saw they had their...
Thank you all for your comments. :) I was thinking Easter egger with the beard but I've never had one with yellow legs. As far as the tail goes, I've raised many chicks but haven't seen these extra long tail feathers - the main part of her tail is normal but these long feathers are new to me...
I bought this chick at a feed store. She was in the bluebell chick group. I've never seen the long tufted tail feathers on a chicken before - can anyone tell me if there is a breed that has those feathers? She has a beard too.
Thanks for your help! I thought he looked a lot like my Delaware hen - but she isn't barred per se, looking at Delaware pics I see why the above one is barred. Below is our hen (along with the new guy).
Hi everyone, I have an eight week old 'white rock' from a feed store. I haven't typically seen a comb this red in a pullet this early, but wondered if there was a chance this breed develops faster? Any thoughts? The buff orpingtons are about the same age.
My hen's first egg hatched today!!! Very exciting! The only problem is that she and the chick are on the opposite side of the chicken house from the nest. She's caring for the chick and so has left the eggs - at least for now. I'm trying to decide if I should do anything or leave her be...
Thanks for your help! Legs are definitely green. I had not even thought about an Easter egger being white. Can other breeds have green legs? Definitely hope it's not roo, ugh. She/he may have a little fluffiness in the cheek area.
This chick was sold as a buff orpington - I'm guessing no since feathers are white? I was thinking maybe a Cornish cross or a leghorn? She is a little larger than the others. The chicks are about 2.5 weeks old. Thanks in advance for any help!
Don't know if these pics help. Hoping it isn't a roo. She/he has a little damage at the base of her/his tail. No roo-y behaviors yet. I welcome thoughts on this one. Thanks!
