    How much time do chickens spend in their coop?

    My two girls are pullets about three months old and they spend 75%+ of their time in the coop. They are happy to come out and see me when I go out to the garden or to feed them but I was worried there was something wrong. All seem healthy... and Happy.

    3 sheets of plywood, 8 brackets for the suspended floors, $20 window, 4 sets of hinges, $12 nesting boxes, 6 2x4's for interior framing, nails, brads, paint. Aprox. $140 to $160 not including the fencing.

    I cut two foot lengths of rolled fencing. The fencing is 4 ft wide and I wired the sections together. The fence forms a "C" at the bottom of the run facing outward.     Love this coop! The nesting boxes hang over the fence so they can be accessed without going into the run. I can store, access and feed from here. There is a door so that I can let them out into the main yard if I want to. Our beagle would love that. Notice the flap covering the linoleum covered...
