    I have 7 girls & Burt, the Rooster. None of the girls shows signs of sitting on the eggs, but we would be thrilled if they did.. He lets us know if there are Raccoons or Hawks around, so he is earning his keep :-)

    Finally, they are now starting to use 2 boxes. Still only 3 of the girls laying, but I'm sure the others will be catching up soon.

    Got fake eggs in the other boxes .. they just ignore them. Maybe one day they wont be able to wait, then go & use the other boxes. When all of them start to lay, they will get the hang of it .. Thanks

    Up to now, 3 of my girls have started to lay, one of them in the morning - but then around lunchtime, 2 of them go up to the coop at the same time, & get in the same nesting box. They have a choice of boxes, but prefer to squish into the same box & lay their eggs together. Is this unusual ? I...

    Thank you so much. I couldn't help myself, so I have just been out to check the nesting box.And YES!! There was an egg, 15 minutes after me putting the fake egg in there. I am beyond pleased.
