    Guinea color combinations

Well, 9 eggs hatched, got 6 lavender keets, 2 purple, and 1 white... and that's from a purple male pairing with a purple, and a lavender female, the keets are doing well so far, the white keet was the biggest shock, it's a color i've never owned yet

    Guinea color combinations

I guess that would be the case, since I've only had pied, and pearl greys survive to breeding age I wasn't sure how the colors would turn out... also if the purple really is the alpha male he's doing a pretty good job, though i was pretty sure the 3 year old pearl male was the alpha since all...

    Guinea color combinations

I am curious about just some color genetics, I currently have a flock of 6 relatively tame guineas (male/female pair of Royal Purple, and lavenders, and 2 male pearl greys with white flight feathers), but I noticed that my royal purple female paired with the royal purple male, then after the...

Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

It's been a few years since I've logged on, but lately just been studying the genetics in a small experimental bantam flock I had received from a friend, long story short, predators got the original birds, but I have their decedents now to a 5th generation down the line (the lineage was...

currently my turkeys are still a bit young (in about 1 week they will be 5 months old), by the time spring rolls around they should be around 7 - 8 months old (and possibly a few eggs from them), i'm also eagerly awaiting the day my female mallard/rouen cross duck lays her first eggs

I hope it means that DuluthRalphie won't be upset that I have a pair of ducks living with a pair of Narragansett hens, currently the drake is sleeping on the ground, and the female duck is actually on a roost 4 feet off the ground asleep under one of the turkeys (these ducks I hatched from a...

Those poults look so cute, i'm eagerly awaiting my young turkeys to mature, and start laying eggs for me to hatch, same with my guinea keets (surprisingly my flock of 4 guineas are very quiet, only the female in the group is making most of the noise, the 3 males are pretty quiet), and i have...

I checked the white poult, and yes, she has green eyes, does that help in the identification of what it's color could be? I also noticed one of the red bronze is a tom, but he is developing an occasional white feather all over him (these are his adult feathers that are coming out occasionally...

I also think i might have finally figured out how many toms/hens i have in my brood of 13, the toms appear to be getting bigger than the hens now that they are 5 months old, currently looks like 6 Toms, and 7 hens, 4 of the Toms are in bronze/Red Bronze range, and the hens look like...

i'm eager to see what colors i get, but the only genes i don't have in my flock currently is the slate gene, pencilling gene, the genes i know i have in my turkeys is red bronze, bronze, Narragansett, Silver Dapple (the hen feathered out white on the silver dapple pair), a Rusty Black hen...

Petition drive to save Daisy’s Christmas

i'm actually planning on baking some special cookies for my flock of chickens, ducks, turkeys, and guineas (and mabe a couple for my goats)... and i wonder if its possible to bake a cookie for a couple of colonies of guppies (i have 3 aquariums of guppies, 2 have breeding colonies, and the 3rd...

normally i would be all for giving the turkeys the cookies, but i would want to be sure they were made with ingredients that are safe for turkeys (like scratch grains baked into each cookie)

my main question would be, are the cookies safe for the turkeys to eat first, as you said cookies, didn't specify the type of cookies, if they are cookies with something like scratch grains baked into them i would think they would be safe... and thats a really good idea, making special cookies...

i do understand what you are saying Duluthralphie, but i said its just 1, the pack is made of feral dogs, coyotes, and the cattle dogs that started the pack... its possible it might be something else, but it is huge, if i see it again, i'll try to get pictures of it, but its hard spotting it...
