A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Well I survived Christmas! It was 73 in St. Louis. As much as I loved the beautiful weather....it didnt feel very holiday-ish! Hanging out today then home to Memphis tomorrow. Warm weather is continuing through the weekend. So hope to spend some time with the girls!! Currently Blossom seems to be my teenager with the most lapper potential. So the plan is to pick her up & plop down in a chair. Hoping for the best!
Around the family dinner table....lots of grandkids photos, and then me....with my pics of the teenagers. Most where very polite and said they were "pretty".

I still had a couple of patches of snow left yesterday, but I bet it's all gone today. I agree, it didn't feel very Christmasy with such warm temps! Maybe next year.

I also think i might have finally figured out how many toms/hens i have in my brood of 13, the toms appear to be getting bigger than the hens now that they are 5 months old, currently looks like 6 Toms, and 7 hens, 4 of the Toms are in bronze/Red Bronze range, and the hens look like Narragansett, harvest gold, a bronze/red bronze or two, the white poult, and the Silver auburn...

I also already have friends that want to buy the extra toms, and hens i don't want/need once they are 100% confirmed as toms/hens

R2elk....I bet most toms would be jealous of that blue hens beard!! Its incredible. How old is she??
Fred...I heading home today. If the weather holds, my weekend plans are to see if I can get Blossom to relax in my lap. I will definitely check her for a beard! That would be too cool!

Been in Missouri since xmas eve. MISSING MY GIRLS!! I'm ridiculous. When I tell folks I need to head home because I miss my turkeys I usually get a blank stare! We had a nice Christmas. But the weather was so warm that it took a bit of that holiday feel away. Wish I had been home....I could have got a ton done in the gardens! Plus, the turkeys just LOVE helping! I'm hoping to get some trimming done. I'll set up my ladder. That's always a big deal with the girls! Gardening with the girls...one of my favorite things!!

I checked the white poult, and yes, she has green eyes, does that help in the identification of what it's color could be?
I also noticed one of the red bronze is a tom, but he is developing an occasional white feather all over him (these are his adult feathers that are coming out occasionally white), if i can i'll get a pic of him when i can
