Jumping on to join this double shelled thread! We have brown layers, white layers, green layers, and blue layers...how in the world did this double shell have blue inner shell and brown outer shell?!?
I hope so!! It has been rather hot here (90+ degrees) this last week or two. The coop stays relatively cool, though. She's the sweetest hen we have. I'd hate for anything to happen to her!!
My poor Queenie!! My 18 week old Plymouth Rock's comb started to droop and now has black spots. She otherwise appears normal, eating normally, and laid her first egg earlier this week. The other hens of the flock appear normal.
Any suggestions?
Mine's a girl! Couldn't really tell by body features, but finally could distinguish their quacks. My boys and girls look pretty much the same size wise and colors. I ended up with 2 drakes out of my 7 total.
Hey guys! My KC's are about 6 weeks and have almost all of their 'adult' feathers in. A few of them have only quills without feathers on their bellies only and I was wondering if this is normal. The rest of their feathers look just fine. Thanks!!!
We're first time chick and duck raisers (7 red pullets, 2 Plymouth rocks, and 7 khaki Campbells), and we're building our coop. We've already planned on two separate sides for chickens and ducks. I'd love to hear what you'd like to change about your coop, what you would have built differently...
