That's an important point, he doesn't mention what will happen to these chicks once they hatch. He's done other videos where he turned his room into a tropical jungle to hatch frogs. I wonder if I can find out what happened to the frog post filming. I'm away down a rabbit hole. I hope the ferry...
Safe journey. Perhaps I should have written "Is it irresponsible to hatch 100's of supermarket eggs for YouTube likes". I wonder if I cam edit the title?
He speaks to some sort of expert who tells him UK supermarkets only buy eggs from producers who only keep hens but occassionally a producer can't fulfill the order so they add eggs from breeding pens. So, there is a slight chance that one will be fertile. He got 2 fertile eggs from the original...
If you watch the video you will see what I mean. The guy buys 12 eggs and 2 are fertile. I have no problem with that.
The second part of the video he asks people to like his video and he'll hatch an egg for every like. He buys a further 300+ eggs and incubated them. 139 hatch. That is what I...
Please watch this video that I found on Youtube and let me know what you think about it. I enjoyed the first half but not so sure about the "army".
ETA: to make the question clearer. Is it okay to hatch 100's of supermarket eggs for YouTube likes? I have no issue with trying to hatch...
9 chicks in total hatched. They are all in the brooder now. I'm so grateful for such a high hatch rate this time around. We'll get to naming them once they are all dry and fluffy.
Sounds like a great plan. Cheapest way to do it, I think, would be to buy a second-hand greenhouse of marketplace and repurpose it for your run.
My birds live inside my greenhouse, so far we've had no issues with predators or bad weather.
Keeping birds in terrariums isn't the best housing option for them. They can panic/flush and smack into the glass and cause themselves injuries. It can be hard to regulate heat and humidity in a terranium too. Coco shavings are fine for bedding.
Hello 👋. Congratulations!! I put my 3 week fully feathered quail into the greenhouse coop a couple of days ago. They are doing fine and are much happier now they have more space. As long as you keep your chicks warm they should be fine moving out of the brooder. Quail are hardy birds.
Whilst shopping for wood pellets I saw kitten litter wood pellets. A bag was open and I put my hand in to feel the pellets and they were all crumbled and dusty so perhaps I should edit my previous comment  . They are less dusty than sawdust initially.
