What do we think about this guy hatching 100's of supermarket eggs for likes on Youtube?

Is it irresponsible to attempt to hatch supermarket eggs?

You should be able to edit the title of the thread but I think xenforo (the forum software) doesn't let you edit polls once someone's voted. If that is the case, a mod might be able to do it for you if you reported your first post.
Thank you I managed to edit to make the question clearer.

If you watch the video you will see what I mean. The guy buys 12 eggs and 2 are fertile. I have no problem with that.

The second part of the video he asks people to like his video and he'll hatch an egg for every like. He buys a further 300+ eggs and incubated them. 139 hatch. That is what I have a problem with. Hatching eggs for likes. Watch the video and see if you change your opinion.
He's a moron just crying for attention, someone will put a stop to it or he'll get bored. He's not actually going to do it.

I'm on the boat back up from Aberdeen and the wifi is rubbish.

If he isn't able to house that many birds or find good homes for them (and with those numbers I'd say he should have new homes lined up before even setting the eggs) then that's irresponsible. I wouldn't say it had anything to do with them being supermarket eggs though.

That's an important point, he doesn't mention what will happen to these chicks once they hatch. He's done other videos where he turned his room into a tropical jungle to hatch frogs. I wonder if I can find out what happened to the frog post filming. I'm away down a rabbit hole. I hope the ferry isn't too choppy.

The 139 chicks ended up in an animal sanctuary.
And if he's making money from his videos then he's given every penny he got from that video to the sanctuary, I'm sure...

What an idiot.

(Edit - I meant he's an idiot, not you, in case that wasn't clear!)

Most supermarket eggs are not fertile because they are mass produced in sheds in which any male is a mistake, and an unnoticed one where people are supposed to be checking on them every day. That sort of hatch ratio is wildly exaggerated.
I'm sceptical that he managed to find 300 quail eggs in his local supermarket. Most UK supermarket's don't stock quail eggs. They are seen as a speciality in the UK.
Why don't you trust your insider knowledge on poultry, and your instincts, and recognize that the guy is just a conman? I wouldn't waste another second on this nonsense.

A bit foolish? Perhaps, but as long as the birds are given to proper homes, I'd describe it as a poor way to hatch chicks and a waste of eggs but mostly harmless? People have done worse things for likes and views
