3 year old duck in dog fight, bottom 1/3 bill shattered

He is much better - we taped the upper bill and lower bill with bandage tape, gave him antibiotics and have kept him in a small fenced area so he cannot do any more damage to himself. He is eating chick starter and baby food and drinking well. Still obviously bothered by the bandage but he's...

Do you think it would be safe to cut the bill away ourselves?

3 year old duck in dog fight, bottom 1/3 bill shattered

He is very brace (mean) and does not like dogs. He chases my German shepherds around the yard but this was a small dog we are fostering. I'm not sure that this damage was mostly from thrashing through the fence. I flushed it with Arnica Tea but wanted to calm him down before I did too much...

Its hard to tell or keep him still for pics but each piece is attached in some way - he shakes his head and they just dangle?

3 year old duck in dog fight, bottom 1/3 bill shattered

Our 3 yr old duck likes to fight dogs thru fence - last night bill was shattered top and bottom 1/3. We were able to stop the bleeding and duck is resting calmly this morning. The bill pieces are just hanging and he keeps shaking his head which causes bleeding to start. We have him in a small...

Losing hens and don't know why

I have lost 2 1 yr old hens in the past 2 weeks. The first, 2 weeks ago was a Barred Rock who has been a great layer and friendly chicken. She came out of the coop when I was giving treats and sat at my feet but I noticed her feathers were fluffed. I picked her up to check her, everything...

Hen had blood on h feet - otherwise seems fine

I'm sorry for the late reply- honestly I was embarrassed, but thought everyone in this community might enjoy some good news mixed with humor. I immediately brought "Jean" to the house, thoroughly examined her and washed her feet with vinegar/water/soap to try to get some of the "blood" off...

Hen had blood on h feet - otherwise seems fine

My 2 year old hen (red sex link) has what appears to be blood on her feet. There are no signs of trauma and she is acting fine. I tried to wash her feet but it seems to be under the skin. Nothing on her legs or anywhere else and all other hens seem fine. Any help is appreciated.
