I have one chicken who will disappear lay eggs and hatch out chicks. She reappears with them I put several stakes in a 2 foot circle only a couple inches between each stake put your chick feed in the center. Chicks can go in and out but not older free range hens. Cuts down on feed. Don't worry...
I have bantams and heavy breeds together without problems. I have even added new bantams with out any problems. I dont think my hens in charge view the bantams as a threat to the pecking order.
Im sure it would be good but probably $$$$$$$. I just go to local flooring companys and get remnants. Did my 8x8 coop for $10 got a 10x10 piece so I could go up each wall a few inches works great and cheep cheep! (Sorry couldnt resist!)!
I dont deal well with aggresive roosters, I give one chance and only one chance. If the rooster is or acts aggressive, do you really want those genes passed onto the next generations?
Chicken Math! I just started raising chickens last year. Built my coop twice as big as I needed, so I thought. Ive already put in my order for chicks from our local feed store to fill my coop. Only warning to you is that chickens are addictive!!!!!!!!!!!! (Just like a bag of patato chips once...

Its amazing to me how much personality some chickens have! I have a very mixed flock of 12 hens. I added two new bantams to my flock of ten, two weeks ago. I have two barred rocks who seem to share leadership? They have the control or the highest pecking order. I was worried to add chickens as...
I have 5 bantams and 7 regular or large breed chickens they all seem to do fine with each other. They were not all raised together. 2 of my bantams were just added to my flock 2 weeks ago and they were combined without any issues or problems. I say raise both and have the best of both worlds...
