    I was told by someone in the show world that you are NOT supposed to touch/handle a cockeral/roo until after its a year old. According to the person, too much handling will cause the roo to be aggressive. Any truth in this ?

    Do chicken's like mirrors the way parrots and other birds do? I'm think of ways to make their habitate more enjoyable. They can't be free range due to the number of predators in the area ( feral cats, snakes, raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, stray dogs, hawks).

    Ft. Chicken

    I bought a standard chicken coop and enclosed it in a large dog kennel. Me and my dad then wrapped the whole thing in chicken wire and now I have the avian version of Ft. Knox. Here is the hutch. They are locked inside it at night for added security. Here they are enjoying their new home.

    I'm feeding Purina Start & Grow Unmedicated, is that a good feed? How hard is it to find a good vet that does chickens? I live in Comal County, TX. I have goats, so I know how hard it can be to find a vet that does certain species.
