It looks so sad, it scoots around in circles on the paper towel I have over the shavings, and I keep finding them both "nesting" under the paper towel. Any suggestions as flooring? the paper towel is usually good but even this seems too slippery for the little one...
here is a picture of the keet, I've removed the tape so you can see what the leg does... the little keet tries really hard but just seem to flap around.
Hi everyone,
Haven't been on in awhile, but I need some help with a little keet we hatched out in the incubator yesterday. I found a huge nest of Guinea Fowl eggs that my hen was unable to sit on, so I put them in the incubator, wasn't too optomistic about any hatching, but we got a surprise...

HI
We discovered that our female muscovy was sitting on 3 eggs. Brilliant we thought, but then she started eating the eggs (we had this problem with her when she decided to sit on our chicken eggs, and had hoped it was an isolated incident due to them being chickens not duck - she got them to...
I had this same concern the last few days Mine where from 4/5 hrs to 17hrs. The one we lost had been pipped for more than 24hrs with no progress past making a hole about 1.5cm... I would have helped it out if I hadn't had to go to work The one I helped out was the last to pip, I started...
Hi All,
well day 22 today and I think we're done . Of the 22 eggs I set 20 went into lockdown with 2 I wasn't sure about. In the end 10 pipped, 8 hatched with no problems. The very first egg to pip, got a hole about 2cm by 2cm, and then didn't progress. I was getting close to helping it...
We have a little chick!!!!! Yay!! 7 other chicks are now watching from their peep holes - maybe it'll get em moving!!!
Guinea fowl galore - so sorry about your little one. Nature can be hard sometimes
well 11hrs since the first egg pipped externally and we now have 8/20 that have pipped but still no chickies. I can see movement and several beaks are poking out now and then, so hopefully they decide to hurry up for my sake!
no doubt we'll have little ones in the morning...I just want to see...
no it was definitely separate to the main mass I saw. It looked like a ball was rolling around just under the air sac. I ? the egg because I thought maybe the chick had died and was starting to disintegrate, and that ball was a bit of the chick... however clearly thats not the case as its now...
I've got 6 now that have externally pipped, the first from this morning has enlarged the hole, but gee its slow going. they cheep at me when I talk to them and I can see them move through the cracks they've made! Very exciting!
Cynthia12: 5mm = 5 millimeter or half centimeter, I could see a...
Hi all,
I'm just new to the breeding side of chickens, but have had a few Isa's for the last 4 years. We now have Faverolle's, which I have fallen in love with
Tomorrow is day 21 on my first ever incubator hatch - I made my own - and this morning we already have 3 eggs which have started to...
