Who the h*ll is laying this egg?!?!

Awww I also give these to my kids for breakfast! My girl Shelly started laying on 7/31 and she has laid 6 of these perfect small green eggs since. The other EE Ruthie began laying on 7/21 while I was out of town (OF COURSE my chicken sitter got all the excitement of 4 new layers😆) and now her...

Who the h*ll is laying this egg?!?!

The last of my 12 newly laying pullets was a bearded white and brown Ameraucana and she lays the smallest green eggs! So cute! I will miss this little egg when hers grow bigger like her sis’s, and then it’ll be harder to tell them apart. Cheers to drowning in eggs!!

Time for adult grit at 11 weeks?

I have been mixing the #2 and #3 grit and they have been taking what they need and leaving leftovers. Lord knows the collective 100lbs of grit I just bought (2 sizes 50lbs each) will last me a lifetime!!

Scratch & Peck Now Contains Diatomaceous Earth In Their Feeds

I wouldn’t be concerned, personally. You can always reach out to their customer service for an explanation I’ve found them to be very responsive and thorough in their reasoning.

17 week old Pullet, yellow watery stool, panting and drooping wings please help!

I wasn’t able to get the pill down her throat. Idk it seemed so large! But I watched her overnight inside and she improved without the calcium. So much that she was standing and pecking at the food I provided in the morning. I saw a much more solid brown poop with white urates around midday so I...

17 week old Pullet, yellow watery stool, panting and drooping wings please help!

17 week old Sapphire Splash, not yet laying, but squatting and getting red. Her “sis” is already laying. Today I found yellowish watery stool with a red smear this morning and kept an eye out for anyone acting sick. The red smear looked sort of jelly like and it bounced a little when I smushed...

    Thought egg bound, autopsy revealed…

Out of curiosity I googled this and the internet says egg yolk peritonitis. “Cooked egg appearance” with swelling in the internal cavity could indicate a bacterial infection. Wondering if there is a lash egg in there. From what I’ve read this is a super common disease though and usually looks...

    Flock management: bullying? Pecking order?

How many cans of tuna would you give for a flock of 12? 2? I also give them my kids scrambled eggs if they don’t finish. Which of course they are obsessed with!
