Permethrin is great. We use concentrate and mix with water in gallon jugs. We use on all our outdoor/forestry clothing cuz of our tick issues in the summer. Clothing, shoes, socks, hats, etc... and as an added bonus... Chicken/coop/run, bug treatments.
Get some empty gallon jugs, empty...
Yes, i see what you are saying. I only read the "Guaranteed Analysis". I posted my mistake and quoted it above. For some reason though it seems as she was deficient in one of these vitamins. Maybe she wasn't eating as much as the other girls...because of the moult. ANd became deficient. Or, this...
OK, look who just caught up....ME! Apparently...I had a "Derp" moment. So, thank you to all who responded. I must've looked at the "Guaranteed Analysis" on the label online for my feed and others. Digging deeper I saw the full ingredient lists on the feeds. So, yes vitamins are in there. I don't...
I am waiting on Nutrena to write me back about the Vitamin Bs not listed on their label of "Feather Fixer". Maybe they will tell me that it actually is in there but not listed. I wrote them Sunday night. So, hopefully i will get a response soon. My girls are in their first moult, and it is...
I just wanted to post this in case there are peeps out there that don't know about this. I found my RIR hen in nest box at night (When i go check and make sure they are all in coop) a few days ago and wouldn't stand on Left leg. I thought she may have injured it since they were cooped up in the...
I have 26 in all. All Egglaying Hens. Started with only wanting 6. Well, we know how that ends. They are like potato chips, you can't just have one, lol. 6 Rhode Island Red, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 barred rocks, 6 buff orpingtons and 8 Light Brahmas. The funny thing is most of them don't...
Hello all. Been awhiel since i posted. We had a nice day here today....30 degrees...heatwave. Anyways, i know my girls eat mice and such...seen em' tear apart mice, snakes, baby turtles. But my Buff Orpington (Bucket) caught a mouse and started tearing it up, playing keep away from the other...
I started with a smaller coop and run a lil bigger than the one pictured. Now, i wish i would've not spent the money on a pre-built one because it ended up being too small as I wanted more chickens. I lived and learned. Now we have a 12x12 coop...and 12x20 run attached. My girls are all free...
I have 5 different breeds of pullets currently. I ordered my chicks from 2 different hatcheries, online. I ordered 6 RIR and brooded them till about 6 weeks old in battery brooder. Then out to coop they went. My next breeds were 3 Barred Rocks and 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes. Same on the brooding...
Thanks for the replies. I never knew that they carried both female and male sex cells. Very interesting indeed. Maybe the stress of them being new layers caused it. Usually RIRs are aggressive, but of course mine have to be different lol. Glad to hear it is not that unusual. I am assuming that...
Ok. This is crazy. I have 6-30 week old RIR pullets. They have been laying for some time now. The one stopped laying about a week or so ago, and now she is starting to mount a few of my Barred Rock pullets (24 weeks old). we do not have any cockerels in our flock. I know this girl is the most...
