I have 2 out of 5 Barnevelder 4 week old chicks losing their feathers around their butt. Could they be molting? Also we lost 2 chicks from another breeder last week, And one barny to day, they were wobbling and sick acting. Would these things be related? We have been keeping all the breeds...
Got a toe Question. Has anyone else have buckeyes with toes that tilte over and lay over on the side. I have 2 little roos that do. Is this common? Is this a defect? Thanks John.
Thanks again Braclin for the chicks. It was very nice meeting you, doing business, and chatting chickens with you. We're very happy with the chicks, the boy has been playing with them since we got them. I think they're his now.
Thanks again
John and Alice

Hello all I guess I can post here? I live in S.W. Ohio But I was born in Maysville Ky. I Like to tell people Mom swam the Ohio river in labor just so I wouldn't be born a Buckeye! I live only about 30 miles north of Maysville In Brown co.. Anyone have any lavender ,splash or black orps. or BA's...
We went last year. But that was before we got into chickens. seems like there was alot there. The week before is the big chiken show (S.W. Ohio poltry show, same place) you may have more luck there. John
A couple of days ago we saw our Australorp hen squatting for the rooster and again today. she has not laid any eggs yet, we're still waiting for the first time (not sure how old she is, We think around 18 weeks). Do you think she's getting close to laying? Thanks John!
Thanks te dave it's been hot up here in southwest Ohio, I assume you're from the south, I bet it's real bad down there. Our daughter is in the Army stationed in GA she says the heats been really bad. Hope it cools off soon so you can get your birds.
John
So sorry retiredwithchicks. It must be a bad day for chickens. the daughter dog pulled out of its collar and got 1 of my little roos. Thank God it was only one. I'd rather have the chickens than the dog anyways. It starts to barks at night around 10:00, my bedtime. John
