ADVICE NEEDED! Chick hatched very wet with yolk

Short answer - no 😢 but I only found it dead this morning, I was so gutted. Yesterday it was up eating, drinking, walking fine. Under the brooder with the other chicks. I really thought it had pulled through. Then this morning it didn’t come out from under the brooder. Such a shame but I suppose...

ADVICE NEEDED! Chick hatched very wet with yolk

So, I couldn’t watch it die, removed chick, basically had to give it a bath. The side it had been laying on had a piece of shell stuck in its thigh making it bleed - have removed, and it’s right wing stuck to its head 😢 is now on top of the Aga drying off and has had a drop of nutri drops just...

ADVICE NEEDED! Chick hatched very wet with yolk

Hi, this morning one of my Easter Egger chicks hatched, it took much longer than the others. It’s still very wet, hasn’t stood up and still had some yolk attached. It looks like it’s covered in slime and very weak, I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to help it? Should I remove from...

    Help with new chick!

It’s still the same, a tiny bit more sugar water but no interest in chick crumb and still can’t stand up or walk. I will monitor today and tomorrow and if no progress I don’t think it will survive anyway :(

    Help with new chick!

Thanks, I’ve dipped it’s beak in sugar water and I think it took a few drops but still won’t eat. I will get some vitamin drops in the morning and keep trying! I don’t want to give up but I’m also concerned as one leg seems to be dragging behind it all the time so when you try and stand it up it...

Advice Please! 9 eggs, 2 hatched

I have just candled the remaining eggs after removing the live chicks from incubator and it looks as though they have all died :( I can’t understand why 3 chicks made it ok and on time etc, all the settings were as they’d should be from what I gather so is it something I’ve done wrong or...

Advice Please! 9 eggs, 2 hatched

I had read many posts where the bantams would hatch slightly earlier, so I’m beginning to think the worst :( I had it at 45% then increased to 65% on lockdown. I’ve got 3 healthy chicks, but the last Wyandotte hasn’t pipped either. The chicks have now been in for just under 24hrs so is it best...

Advice Please! 9 eggs, 2 hatched

Hi, This is my second brood of chicks from the incubator... I had 4 Wyandotte’s and 6 bantam arucana’s. 2/4 Wyandottes have hatched today (day 21) and a third one is now zipping. The forth one hasn’t pipped yet. The 6 bantam eggs have done nothing, not even pipped, is this normal? I’m using a...
