Hi,
This is my second brood of chicks from the incubator...
I had 4 Wyandotte’s and 6 bantam arucana’s.
2/4 Wyandottes have hatched today (day 21) and a third one is now zipping. The forth one hasn’t pipped yet.
The 6 bantam eggs have done nothing, not even pipped, is this normal? I’m using a Brinsea maxi 2 advance and have all the correct settings/temp/humidity etc.
The 2 that have hatched look strong and healthy, I’m prepared that the forth may have died recently as no movement? But for all of the bantams not to have moved/pipped I’m now worried that they may have died too?
Anyone experienced this or can give me any advice on what to do?
TIA

I am not that experienced with hatching, just have had a few hatches several years ago. It could be that your eggs were not fertile to begin with. Were the eggs shipped to you or did you collect them from your chickens? Shipped eggs may be less likely to hatch in my limited experience. I you are hatching your own, I would make sure that your rooster is fertilzing one or two before starting.

You may want to candle your eggs next time, about 7-10 days along, to make sure they are developing. It is too late now. Hopefully others will chime in.

My bantams usually hatch before large fowl so that is a bit concerning. The Brinsea incubator is an excellent one. What humidity did you run for the first 18 days? And whereabouts are you located?
I had read many posts where the bantams would hatch slightly earlier, so I’m beginning to think the worst :(
I had it at 45% then increased to 65% on lockdown. I’ve got 3 healthy chicks, but the last Wyandotte hasn’t pipped either. The chicks have now been in for just under 24hrs so is it best to remove them and put under their brooder at some point today?
I’m in England!
