This duckling hatched at 3am this morning but is still attached to everything via the umbilical cord. Should I cut it or let it dry up on its own and is there anything else I can do to help??

I'm pretty sure a bunch of the egg goop that comes with hatching never really un attached from this duckling and now it’s dried up on his backside. Should I let it be and see if it falls off or treat it like pasty but and try removing it???
