    lol my silkies are like that but my other chooks love to be held. did you buy them as chicks? I reckon the plymouth barred rocks, they will at least give you 200+ eggs a year, plus they are friendly and very pretty.

    are they the only ones available or the only ones your interested in? If you can you should think about Australorps. Really friendly, not flighty and lay extremely well.

    i agree - a couple days in the coup should fix things! I had the same problem and I put my hens in the coup for a couple of days and now they do all the work for me!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!! poor little duckiling it sounds like persistance is going to be the real winner here! Does anyone have any ideas what a silkies favourite treat might be? Ive tried all kinds of veggies but they wont touch them.. I could try worms? I havent tried egg yet either.

    I have a coup 5m x 6m so 30m squared.. I think its about 275 square feet, is that big enough for 6 chooks? Cheers!
