Thank you. I've had a look and there's no holes. The fence is probably just over 6ft, wooden and criss cross. It could've jumped on something near the fence to get over it and must've just crawled all the way up it to get out. I'll have to put some netting over the top before I get some more.
Just posted 2 weeks ago to say I'd rehomed 4 ex battery hens after my old girl died at 8 and a half. Have kept them in the hen and added access to the last part of it today..still enclosed, 7ft high fence but no roof. They had access to soil for the 1st time and loved their 1st dust bath. Went...
Sharon cos she's the bossy one, Ginger cos she tried to get out of the box all the way home in the car (Ginger from Chicken Run), Blossom cos she's the smallest and will blossom now she's free range and 1 still to be named
Thanks. Have just posted there as well now. They've settled in really well. 2nd night 2 went in hen house themselves. 3rd night 100% success. It's brilliant considering that they haven't had that option for a year
Hi. I'm a new member and am in North Yorks. 'Yorkshire Coop' suggested I introduced myself here (had posted on New members section). Have just taken on 4 ex battery hens last week...Lost my last girl couple of weeks ago at 8 and a half. Love seeing them experiencing things for the 1st time
Looks like a great site. Just got myself 4 ex battery hens last week. Lost my last girl a couple of weeks ago she was 8 and a half. I love watching them experiencing things for the 1st time. Look forward to learning from a lot of very knowledgeable folk here
