I have a 1 year old cochin bantam hen who has been laying quite fine. Not sure if she has laid in the last couple of days, however.
She is acting normal - eyes bright and clear and comb a nice healthy red. She is eating okay, drinking okay. The only weird thing that she is breathing heavy...
Thanks for the responses! I soo appreciate it! Sarey (my easter egger) does too.
Yes, the bubbles were clear. No mucus. The eye is clear. (and so is her nose, beak and breathing for that matter)
I must admit, I panicked a bit... knowing that bubbles in eyes is also seen in Coryza (sp?)...
I have a five month old easter egg chicken that has been healthy thus far. I had picked her up this morning 10/25/07 around 9 o'clock and petted her. I sensed nothing wrong with her and she looked great and spunky. I was out in the coop with the flock all morning and no one was sneezing or had...
Well I got confirmation from a breeder that the Black Mottled d'uccle is a Hen.
Does anyone want a Self-Blue d'uccle rooster? If you are in the L.A. area.... please take it before it crows and I get into trouble!
So, no guesses on the Partridge Rocks?
Wow... I really hope they are all hens!
That first one worries me because its comb is a wee bit bigger... but no real wattle growth and it is extremely friendly ... loves to jump on laps. Cross your fingers!
Sorry, forgot to put when they were hatched: May 27th, so that would make them about 5 weeks old or so.
The bottom 2 look like hens to me, also. The top one I am not so sure about. No crowing attempts yet.
I don't have a roo (can't keep one) so they are not my own stock, but some eggs...
(Partridge Rock Bantam #1 hatched May 27) Hen or Roo?
(Partridge Rock Bantam #2 hatched May 27) Hen or Roo?
(Belgian D'uccles, from left to right: Blue, Mille Fleur, Black Mottled - hatched May 20)
Blue looks like a roo, Mille Fleur looks like a hen, Black Mottled???
Thanks for...
Here's 3 Golden Laced Cochin Bantams that I'd like to identify since I'll be selling them.
I believe this one is a roo
Another pic of him. Hope you can see the comb and wattles well enough.
And I think these are hens. (Hopefully!)
