Injured (?) baby chick not using leg and laying on side

We have a young silkie hatched Feb 23 (now is March 13) and was in with a second one. She is now segregated. One morning (about 5 days ago) I went to check on them and she was laying down on her side and doesn’t want to use one of her legs so she kind of shuffled around and pokes it out on...

Chickens and geese or chickens and ducks?

I absolutely love waterfowl and would like to add some into my flock of chickens. I love Cayugas and I love black East Indies as well, but I also love American buff geese, pilgrim geese and Sebastopols. I’m looking for something that will be friendly and cute but also get along very well with my...

    Chick can’t stay upright... HELP!

Sexing a 2 month old Ayam Cemani

it’s really weird- doesn’t act like a cockerel at all. I have it in with 2 small Ameraucana chicks that are about 2 weeks old (the Cemani is about 11-12 weeks old) but will move them around and coo to them and with sit on top of them as well

What gender are these little ones?

I’ve got 15 chicks, black copper Marans and olive/Easter eggers. Some of them are pretty obvious who’s who’ve but the others are more difficult. Help! The marans are 5 weeks and the eggers are 6.

Pasty butt...I think. I need cures!

Giving the whole flock the water won’t hurt, when I hatch out chicks they get an electrolyte in their water for the first day. Just gives them a lovely little boost!
