    just wondering Im not allowed chicken where I live. but I have 6 and I live on a pretty small lot. 3900 sq feet. But Im lucky I have great people living around me and like the chickens and they get free eggs all the time.

    i live in bc on the west coast of Vancouver island so I know all about rain. I put play sand down. it keeps it dry and when it drys they love to roll around in it. They seem to really enjoy it. and since it is fine I treat it like a large litter box and scoop it out daily and never smells.

    thanks everyone, do alot of people that have chicken as have gardens. I love chickens but I love my vegetable garden so much. expanding it to 40 by 40 this week.

    im not allowed chickens at my home because my lot is to small. but i just asked everyone that lived around me. and give them eggs and veggies from my little farm i got going and they are seem fine. it does not smell and they are not too noisy

    I was told 2 sq feet per bird or even low as 1 for a hen house since all they do is lay and sleep in there. I'm I wrong.
