Hmm, I called and asked if they could run a test but they said they’re too busy. Maybe I can contact them again and see if there is a test kit of some kind I can use myself? I have an appointment at another local vet next week who will hopefully be able to run something. Thanks!

I have a question for BYC members in Northern California: I recently got two bantam Cochins on Craigslist and I’m worried that they may have Coryza. I have been quarantining them from my flock and one of them is just the sweetest little hen, so it’s breaking my heart to think that she is going...

Beautiful Young d'Anvers Roosters in Northern California

Sorry, I had to rehome my roosters quite quickly, as they weren't legally allowed in my hometown. If I ever hear from the woman that has them that she can no longer keep them, I'll get in touch!

I stuck a Christmas bow on a d'Anver and she was such a good girl! I love these little hens and seeing others like them.

Respiratory Disease - poultrykeeper.com https://poultrykeeper.com/respiratory-problems/respiratory-disease-in-chickens/ It does not sound like this and I bet the eye does not look like this either. Thanks, Ron! I think because she had a little bit of a watery nose in addition to the foamy eye...

The two Sebrights have actually been in the yard for almost 5 years now, so definitely not a recent addition to the flock! The last birds I did add were 3 d'Anvers over 6 months ago, and they were and continue to be very healthy. The sick Sebright (her name is Lux) is definitely the most flighty...

All 6 of my chickens sleep in the house at night! In two separate crates; 2 feisty Sebrights in one, 4 mellow D'Anvers in the other. I brought the Sebrights in as soon as it started cooling off tonight; I could also keep one or both of them in the house during the day, but the 70 degree house...

A question for the experts: This morning one of my Sebrights had a slightly watery eye, and by lunch there were some bubbles around it. I saw her sneeze once, but no other signs of being unwell, and her eye actually looked better tonight. I have 5 other birds, but none of them have shown any...

Yay Davis chicken-keepers! I've just recently realized that there are a few local Facebook groups (especially Poultry Plus 916-530) that constantly have chickens for sale, including pullets, which I've always struggled to find. I'd recommend joining that group!

Beautiful Young d'Anvers Roosters in Northern California

I live in the Sacramento area, so I am in California, but I really prefer not to ship any animals. The boys are currently staying with a wonderful chicken-lover nearby who has quite a few D'Anvers boys and girls, but if you are ever up north and still interested, I could talk to her about...

Beautiful Young d'Anvers Roosters in Northern California

I've rehomed one of my Lavender Cuckoo roosters, but I'm still looking for homes for my quail rooster and the darker Lavender Cuckoo boy. They are so good-natured, never human-aggressive, and would make a wonderful addition to any flock! Here are some updated pictures of these beautiful boys.

Beautiful Young d'Anvers Roosters in Northern California

I have two Lavender Cuckoo Belgian Bearded d'Anvers roosters and one Quail Belgian Bearded d'Anvers rooster that I got as hatching eggs from Boggy Bottom Bantams in Georgia, and raised from chicks. They are small, beautiful birds that have so much potential for breeding and show, and I haven't...

Just thought I'd check in! I'm pretty sure I have two Lavender Cuckoo d'Anvers roosters and one Quail, so if anyone is interested in getting a tiny roo, I'd be happy to bring you one from Davis! Their crowing is starting to become a little more audible than I would like it, since roosters are...
