ok, the sixth and final chick is out. out of the 6 eggs from week 1 candling, got 100% hatch. yay! these are rhode island reds. pics and video later; gotta go to work now (perfect timing)

my chicks are due tomorrow; I set 7 eggs in my brinsea mini advance; candles about a week ago and had 6 good eggs. 5 of the 6 eggs have already started to pip. believe this will be a good hatch. will take pics and post later. also plan to do some video once things get rolling.

i did a final candle last night; out of my 4 remaining eggs, look like one dies around day 8 - 10. the other three look fine. only 6 days to go - hope all goes well from here on out. got the video cam ready to go for next weekend.

ok, it has been 8 days now since i set the eggs; i candled this morning; out of the 5 eggs that were placed in the incubator 4 look good with chick inside. one never got off the ground so removed it. i love this little incubator (Brinsea mini advance).

yea, me too as posted in a different thread. when i was a young pip i had two incubators - neither would hold a steady temperature; for humidity - who knows; needless to say i didn't have very many successful hatches. however, with the mini advance, i am expecting much much better...
cool. i got the same incubator about a week and a half ago and love it. put 5 eggs in there from a local farmer last saturday. Has been rock solid stable every since. temp at 99.5 - 99.6. i love the auto egg turner. in fact i made a video and it is on youtube at...
