    Soooo tired...

I'm generally here alone while the kids are in school. Husband works up north two weeks out of every month. This is probably more of a vent than a quesiton, but I am really having a time keeping my chickers in the backyard. A friend has been cited by the police department for hers being out of...

    Rooster Showing Dominance Toward People

Our Auracana (sp) rooster is aweful! He will chase any male that walks into the backyard. He doesn't go after me much, but he'll get the dogs. The only thing that comes to mind for mine is elimination! Hope you find some answers!

    Worried!!!! Injured/sick hen!!!

This began yesterday. Her tail was down. So, we came in and did research on it. Thought she might be egg bound. Put her in a warm bath for 30 minutes. Checked her vent and all looked okay. Discovered her tail looking like the other hens had been pecking at her. Put some rooster booster on it...

I'm not sure if the others have been pecking at her or what exactly. So, I brought her in, cleaned her up and applied some neosporin (sp)...

    Two Babies, Three Hens

Sounds like you are doing a fantastic job! I have a friend across the street that has chickens and would love to have her husbands advice at times, but she and I have had a falling out. Peeps think I'm crazy, so I so know what you mean about not really being able to share! Keep up the good work!

at 42 days old can chicks go outside?

Charline...ours are out too and we live north of you in Fort Worth. I've had to set some boards up on west side of the run to keep the sun off of them, but other than that, they have done great.
