a long time ago someone told me to put 1 tablespoon of bleach to a gallon of water to wash eggs(lightly). my hatch rate went up to 85%. having poor rates now. not washing eggs. they develop and die in shell. any ideas? Thanks
a friend made this nice incubator he installed a new wafer thermostat. he's got two 250 watt bulbs. the problem is there is a 6 degree swing before the heat cuts on/ off. Ideas?
after cooling them off. I gave them some electrolight water. put them in another incubator running at 90 degrees, still limp. I was surprised to see all 8 had recovered this morning. yay!!
so sorry, it happened to me before. I now keep two on. 1 heat lamp and 1 just 100 watt bulb as backup. plus I make sure I use the red heat lamp. the white ones from walmart are junk.
I have been getting eggs from very healthy chickens. RIR, thick shells. when I candle before hatch, viable chicks. however when it comes to hatch, I should have a higher percentage at hatch. How do I check to see if the eggs pipped internally, to assist with hatching?
