    this evening he lost his balance and fell on his side and couldn't get up. i picked him up and feed him some wet bread for a while, after that he could stand and he stumbled his way to bed. he hasn't been wormed but the other symptoms don't match worms. worms make chickens lose weight rapidly...

    lethargic, pale face, hunched over puffed up, stumbling around, not eating and drinking much, diarrhea. no other chickens sick. its not worms ( worms make chickens lose weight rapidly ) not mites ( haven't found any ) he has a soft crop ( no crop problem )

    yeah, i've seen threads where people say they think there chicken has coccidiosis and then the next day they say there chicken died. with corid can you only give it to the ill chicken or can it go in the main water for all the chickens ?

    it hasn't been hot here im not sure whether what is making my cockerel ill but i've narrowed it down to mites, coccidiosis, a rare illness or maybe old age. we bought him from a farmer and we didn't know what age he was. we've had him for 2 years now.

    i thought corid was for coccidiosis ? i live in the UK and we have a equivalent called Coxoid. i think my cockerel is getting slightly better, he was eating and drinking more today and he was eating any of the flies that annoyed him. he is still not himself but at least hes eating

    thanks ! i've been feeding him yogurt and other things to help him, but i'll try the vitamin and other things as well. putting a towel over their calm them down, but my cockerel is so lethargic i can just pick him up.
