Yesterday I noticed my 6 month old rooster walking funny and my heart sank. Now today he can’t walk. This is my fourth rooster this year that I’ve lost to what I have been assuming is mereks. They are fine and completely healthy one day and then lame in one or both legs the next. All of them...
I swear it’s just one thing after another.. yesterday I was throwing grass into the run for the chickens and noticed one of my hens Mocha going to eat it but never actually picking it up and eating it. I checked her all over and see nothing wrong on the outside but noticed she smelled strongly...
I’m not sure, the one on top of his wing joint looks connected, but the two underneath are so strange they look free form but one feels almost like it has bone inside. From what I’ve seen he still has full use of the wing and isn’t dragging it or holding it any different than the normal wing.
My one year old Tom has three large masses on his wing that seem to be growing in size. I have no idea what they are and there is no vet anywhere near me that sees poultry. I can tell he’s not feeling well he is lethargic but eating and drinking normally. I know there’s likely nothing I can do...
My one year old Tom has 3-4 very large masses on one of his wings. He is acting completely fine and eating well. I’m not sure what breed he is, my grandma got him from a bin and a feed store and cant remember what it said. I’m not positive if he is broad breasted or not but based on his normal...
6 days ago I discovered my 3 year old rooster Foghorn had what looked like very severe crusty butt, a mound of poop had completely sealed over his vent. I immediately gave him a warm bath and removed the encrusted poop and his vent looked very bad underneath. After it was uncovered though he was...
I feared thats what it could be. The majority of my flock is vaccinated for mareks, it’s just my youngest batch of silkie chicks that I haven’t vaccinated. Hopefully it’s not too late
Yesterday we noticed Rusty is dragging his right foot/ leg behind him. He is a little less than a year old silkie rooster. We have brought him into the garage with a heat lamp since where I live we are getting a lot of snow. His foot looks completely normal, no sign of injury or bumble foot. His...
Thank you all for your help, it has now been about three days without him walking but I think he is improving. I have been giving him about a cup of feed a day and carrying him out into the grass and letting him graze and preen himself in the sun, I'd say he's lost at least one or two pounds...
