I love reading your posts, especially your experiments.
Inspired by your winter experiment we are raising CornishX with Countryside Organics soy free feed & additional meal worms (freeze dried). Our results aren't as good as yours were at this point, but we're not done yet.

The research was done in other countries, other continents where the grains are of different source, differen breeds, and I could not find exact information about the effect of the protein level. Still - I keep an open mind and can't wait for your results.
Do you use warm or cold water?
Pouring warm water daily around the eggs (I use a Hova Genesis) helped me get to the 79-83% humidity.

These chicks don't look like Cornish Rocks at 2.5 weeks.
I don't know what red pullets are, but I also do not see red. Hopefully they are pullets.

I have the Kitchen Aid Pro 5 qt bowl. I have the meat grinder & plan on buying the sausage maker attachement.
Since I cook & bake a lot it is used a few times weekly and is well worth the price.

Hubby is building a large storage room near the new coop. He'll finish it tomorrow so we can transfer the sick ones there, hopefully in time to avoid spreading it.
