I would suggest that because she is a cross breed, it is a simple thing about her single gene for the blue green egg being deactivated by more dominant genes on the paired chromosome. I am sure she is not sick at all. I have an EE which did the same thing in the last year. The colour change for...
Hi, I know this is seven years on, but here is a photo to compare mine. A couple years ago, my little black easter egger was laying little greeny-blue eggs just like the egg that her lavender araucana father hatched from. She had a pea comb too, and a crest of feathers which have genes which...
I have a black easter-egger hen who had a lavender araucana father and a mother who was half Welsummer and half partridge patterned bantam. Interestingly when she started laying, all eggs were blue-green and she had the pea-comb to go with it. Her first clutch were all blue-green eggs. But...
I have a black EE which used to lay greenblue colour too. Her daddy was a lavender araucana (not rumpless, we don't have rumpless in Australia) and her mummy was a Partridge patterned cross breed. She laid many green blue eggs and hatch a good healthy clutch earlier this year. He daughter also...

There are several breeds. Silkies are the obvious and common ones. The most famous is Ayam Cemani from Java (they cost thousands) and there is a Swedish breed derived from the same stock a couple hundred years ago. There is also one that comes from north western china which is like Ayam Cemani...
