Well, momma-hen, come on down to NC and pick yourself out a couple. LOL. I'm pretty sure that all three outside are hens, two in brooder box I think I remember being one of each, will have to wait to find out, did not mark them on day 1.
Hopefully will be collecting eggs again in a few...
Sorry, posting fingers worked faster than brain. The self blue/black are just only a couple of months old - just starting to get pretty.
Will have to try again to get a better picture of the black frizzle w/three white feathers. That is all that showed up!!!
I have had some of the coolest colors with this mix. Hopefully can download! LOL I had to include pics of my polish/frizzled cochin 'blends'. They are without a doubt my favorite.
I am getting some self blue and black chicks, and possibly one that is blue w/black crest. However, mine are out of a silver laced rooster and WB blue and splash hens. Interestingly, I have two in the brooder right now that are white, not splash, and are looking like thier crest may be a dark...
My secret is to start putting tiny pieces of bread in a feeder in the brooder (pencil eraser sized), just enough for 1-2 pieces per bird. I do this at about two weeks old. After a couple of days, start making them get it out of your hand. In about a week, they will all come up to get pieces...
I have mostly white crested blues and splash, very close to laying age. Not sure how far Luray is from me. I am in Danbury, NC, near the state line at Stuart, VA. IM if interested.
thanks
FOUND ONE - THANKS
Sorry to post in the incorrect place, but I figured polish people would see this first. Looking for somebody with a white crested black hen somewhere near the Danville, VA area. A very devoted daddy called me last night. Thier hen died - belonged to his special needs...
FOUND ONE - THANKS !!!
Had a guy call me last night looking for one white crested black hen for his special needs child. The hen died and he is looking for a replacement. I don't have any of that color, trying to find him one. I tried to give him a white crested blue, but it has to be black...
I have had to tie my hands to stop incubating my polish eggs. Not very diligent about getting them out of the boxes over the last few days. For the last three days have had TWO of my hens sitting on eggs in different boxes. Thought at first they were in there to do business of laying eggs and...

This would mean you have eggs hatching every few days....how are you handling humidity for this rate of hatch & when do the other eggs get a chance to lose the extra moisture??? This may explain your air cell...
And yet, I just posted a WTB for frizzled polish eggs. Somebody obviously needs to take away my mouse.
I hate that everybody seems to have really bad hatch rates sometimes with mailed eggs, but it is comforting to know that it is not me.
I have never checked my humidity. I use LG...
