She is very pretty but from the sounds of her lat home needs to be checked for everything including lice. Enjoy you beautiful new baby.

I brought them both to an animal clinic that i work for so they got double checked by me and the vet. I also got one sizzle also in a seperate quarantined area who has clear nasal discharge that has a very foul odor. The Vet put the sizzle on 2 different ABs along with a sterile sinus flush and the polish on one AB as a precaution. Both Hens Are active , eating and drinking with normal stools. After the meds are finished we will deworm .the Vet is looking Into Vaccines for my 6 other chickens , in hopes that one day they can be integrated <wishful thinking>

FOUND ONE - THANKS

Sorry to post in the incorrect place, but I figured polish people would see this first. Looking for somebody with a white crested black hen somewhere near the Danville, VA area. A very devoted daddy called me last night. Thier hen died - belonged to his special needs child. He was going to drive 2 1/2 hours to get one if I had that color. I have plenty of WC blues and self-blacks, but it has to be WC black.

Thanks I have his phone number. IM me and I will get you in touch with him.

these are my polish babies. they are about 1 1/2 weeks now. i know some of you like to guess gender based on crest shape and size. any ideas on them? just curious. thanks

When I hatched some orpington eggs, I got one of these.. It was the only one with a bad hair day.
To me, the crest reminds me of a cockatoo.. Ive never had a polish so I dont know if this is how they start out or not..

Any and all comments, critiques, or opinions accepted.. Its a month old. Any ideas if its a he or she??? Im hoping a she, then I can keep it...

hey Sem, mind giving a shot at sexing mine?

I am not real good at this, I've been fooled quite a bit. #1 looks like a boy-are those saddle feathers ? Looks like it.
#2- look for saddle feathers, or narrow pointy poof feathers. #3 look for the same thing.

I had one Polish that I thought was a boy even AFTER she laid an egg! She even mounted a few girls when she was 2 and I had no rooster at the time.
What I notice with the ones I have now, 10 weeks old, the probable girls have wide poofs and I can't see their eyes, and the probable males -their poofs look slicked up on the sides.
