Hello
I recently got few India Blue peachicks from different places and I noticed this difference in their color
Does this ligther plumage on their neck come from spalding peafowl?
I've seen online some pictures of low % spalding peafowl and some of them had this trait

This one I got from my friend and I think its regular India Blue

That color is not an indicator; however, it is a low Hybrid. Truth be known, there may not be any 'pure' IB in the US. There has been so much cross-breeding that most people don't realize that the 'pure' IB have mostly faded away. And since Hybrids don't breed true, offspring can show almost none compared to a clutch-mate looking very high in percentage.

Thank you for the answer
In that case should I breed them to a spalding peacock when they grow up? Rest of them are pied so at least I would get split pied spaldings
It should be a better idea than crossing them with IB
Here's a picture of younger one 🙂
