Yeah the main thing they don’t have is the large dewlap under the chin like some i have seen from other countries , but the body on them are nice! My rooster was so wrinkled in the face and eyes it couldn’t see cracked corn on the ground to pickup!
Google Yamato gunkei thunder hooves ranch. This lady in California has had Yamato gunkei for years! She sales some in the fall usually. She also has koshamo and shamo etc.
Well, I did hatch a chick from a 15 lb. Cornish cross hen that was crossed to a Thai gamefowl rooster.... it’s only 10 days old. I have a broody hen raising it. Should be big, but not as big as a “bantam ostrich “!😆 here’s a picture of the Cornish cross chick, and the huge mom next to an Easter...
Hello. Here is my bantam ostrich. It’s a cross between a chicken and an emu. 😂😂
Ok, not really, but it is a mystery. The dad was red Pyle Malay and mom 1/2 Thai gamefowl 1/2 Rhode Island Red. Somehow it’s looking like a ganoi, or some kind of naked neck! Almost 3 months old, and still not...
Hello, I’m kinda randomly posting here, but I have a strange 3 months old chick. It’s 1/2 red Pyle Malay, and 1/4 Thai, and 1/4 Rhode Island Red. Somehow it looks like somekind of ganoi or naked neck. ( or bantam ostrich 😂)
Well, I had 1, 1/2 Cornish cross 1/2 Thai gamefowl chick hatch. She is with a broody Malay hen. The chick is now 10 days old. Looking pretty normal sized and healthy so far. Can’t wait to see how big it will get..
Super old thread. But a Wyandotte is close in appearance to a Brahma without feathered legs. I agree, I hate the feathered feet. Otherwise a beautiful breed. So much for the “standards”!
I wouldn’t get them for layers. This is the only Cornish cross I have had. I bought her for an experiment to cross to my large Asian gamefowl roosters. She is very friendly and healthy but I hear they can easily develop leg issues. Also you need a safe predator proof set up as it’s impossible...
Thanks. I haven’t posted till today, but have been reading posts off and on for several years. I have had chickens around 9 years I think. 😁
That is amazing! Thanks for the pictures!
I do have her on a diet kinda. She gets 3/4 of layer crumble in the morning and before dark I give her 1/2 a cup of more food. I believe 3/4 should be good for a regular big hen, but since she’s so heavy I give her the extra 1/2 cup before sunset. I do keep her separated from the flock but...
Hello! How long did you keep your Cornish cross as pets? I m wondering if she will live more than a year. At 16 lbs I don’t think her body will last. But she walks just fine and looks healthy. Very friendly hen. I hope someone has input on doing a cross with them. My Thai and Malay are bigger...
