So this morning I woke up and the power had run out, the eggs were cold but i managed to warm them myself until the power got back on, im not sure if theyre still alive though. There are many veins in the eggs but on one of the eggs the duckling doesnt seem to be moving much if at all (im on day...
Hey, im new to candling eggs as it is the first time my runner duck is broody! Im not sure how long shes been sitting on them now, my closest guess is at least 10 days.
I used my phones flashlight, i could see an air cell on every egg and they all looked healthy (wasnt detached) except for...
This morning i decided to candle my ducks eggs since she had been sitting on them for a long time (im not aware how long exactly but my guess is around 2 weeks), she turned a year old a month ago. We have two drakes as well so I know the eggs are most likely fertilised but when candling a couple...
I have 4 runner ducks, theyre 2 months old and one of them (we think is female) has been occasionally quacking really loudly in a row then being quiet, kind of like shes calling? She has access to food, water and shelter so i dont know what it could be.. im scared theres something wrong with her...
So i got two runner ducklings to go with the rest of my 12 day old runner ducklings (theyre the same age), but one of them opens their mouth when i put my hand near her? Like shes trying to hiss or something and her beak kind of chatters and shakes when my hand is any where near her. She also...
So i have 4 runner ducklings, 3 of which allow me to pick them up, theyre all calm on my lap but they nibble at my fingers a LOT, why do they do this? Do they hate me? :(
Awh. A lot ot swedish ducks are skiddish when it comes to human contact, the only way you could reform the bond is to maybe treat him/her and spend lots of time comforting them :) make sure not to force it on the duckling though otherwise itll associate you with fear and horrible stuff :P :)
So i got 2 new ducklings today, im not sure about one of their breeds? Sorry for the bad quality pictures. He doesnt like to be picked up and he wont stay still haha :) [/IMG]
Im very scared, i was about to go to bed and i looked over to the ducklings brooder and one of them was opening and closing his mouth quite fast. He seemed relaxed, he was falling asleep but i think it mightve been because the lamp was too hot (although they have a space to move if it gets too...
Im not sure about the spacing. If the ducks are crammed in the kennel it wont be good for them, they need at least some space. Also plastic isnt a good idea, especially if there are foxes in your area, theyll easily bite through it
Awh :) is it okay if i put paper towels over the shavings to stop them from eating them? They seem to be eating the paper towels though. Is this dangerous? Thanks :)
