I am getting two runner ducklings soon. I have never had ducks before. Can I use a dog kennel as a duck house? Most of the coops/houses I have seen for sale are more for chickens. As I am getting runner ducks, the doors don't look like they will be big enough for them to fit through and won't be tall enough inside. A large dog kennel seems to be about right. I will have to fix some sort of door on the front to keep them in and protect from predators but other than that, I can't see any issues?
If I do go for a dog kennel, would a plastic one be suitable? Some of then seem quite thin compared to wooden ones but would be so much easier to clean.

Im not sure about the spacing. If the ducks are crammed in the kennel it wont be good for them, they need at least some space. Also plastic isnt a good idea, especially if there are foxes in your area, theyll easily bite through it
