Good point! When I bought her I was told she was a barnvelder. As she started maturing she didn't look like a barnvelder to me so I posted pics on here and was told she was actually a welsummer. Tell me what you think from the pic
I have 7 girls and I'm pretty sure 5 of them are now laying. I'm still very new to the chicken experience and can't figure out which breed is laying which egg. I have 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Barred Rock, a Welsummer, a buff orpington and a lavender orpington. I obviously know the EE is laying the...
Well we definitely love and enjoy all our girls despite breed! I'm still learning as I go and patiently waiting on eggs. It's been one of the most fulfilling family experiences for us. We built our coop all on our own and continue to tweak it as we go. We have a run under the coop, but have...
I'm new to the chicken world and learning so much along the way. Looks like most of the chickens a purchased from the hatchery are different breeds than I was told when purchased. They are for our own personal enjoyment and egg production so I'm not concerned. I'd just like to be educated on the...
Are these two Easter Eggers? They have slate legs but don't have a beard. They are about 25 weeks and still don't have much of a comb or waddle. No eggs from them yet.
When I purchased this hen as a chick, I was told she was a banverlder. Now that she's gotten older, she doesn't look like the photos of banvelders I've seen. Any idea on breed?
Our 7 hens are about 25 weeks now and we still haven't seen our first eggs. I know with it being winter we have to wait a little longer, but it's in the high 70s here in TX! I'm hoping by complaining on here, I'll see eggs soon. Most of their combs have come in and are reddening up. I added a...
We currently have 2 barred rock, 2 Americaunas, a barnvelder, a buff Orpington and a lavender Orpington. A bit of variety lol the Barred Rocks are just now starting to get their red combs, so I'm hoping we get our first egg before winter hits and we have to wait to see some real action until Spring.
Hi all! I've searched this site a lot for info, but am just now getting around to joining. Looking forward to meeting some of you and hope to find other chicken lovers nearby. We currently have a small flock of 7 hens that are about 15 weeks old. Still waiting on our first eggs!
