I am pretty sure Cinnamon Queen.... but not sure gender. The 1st is definitely a hen but the 2nd looks like a Roo, not crowing or riding, but not laying yet either where the hen has been laying for three weeks now. Same batch.
I have been working on this coop for a few weeks. A lot of other stuff going on. Plus, I knew the chicks wouldn't be ready for a while. This turned into a fun and idea provoking project (as you will see in the following pics). Pics and explanations to follow.
First of all, I decided to put...

We didn't notice any limping..not to say that she wasn't though. Her eyes seem fine. We saw some poop today and it appears to be the size of a marble and drier than normal. Went to the local feed store and they sold us some tetracycline to administer to her and the others. she is still...
Sorry...didn't even look for the sticky... Here is more information.
1) RIR, 14 weeks, "normal weight", don't know exact weight.
2) She is laying down with her feet out to one side. When picked up and put back down, she cannot support her own weight. She is not panting and no obvious injuries...

Yes I did. And thank you very much. Yes, I check on them quite often with the camera. The nice thing about the camera is that I can have the light off and I can still see them as if the light is on. Pretty amazing. As for the number of chickens. I have 40 sq ft of run space and about 28...

Thanks. It is 10 feet long, 4 feet high at the peak and 4 feet deep (front to back). Run are is 10 feet by 4 feet and the roost area is 2 1/2 feet by 10 feet.
Thanks everyone. It was a fun project. However, my chicken math is a little different since I am pretty much maxed out with 9 chickens. I PLANNED on spending about $250.00 tops to build this. Suffice it to say, I went OVER that amount and then some.
I plan on adding a fake cupola with a vane...

Thanks for the compliment. The long sides (white section) just lifts off to expose the entire roost area. I put down linoleum and pine shavings on top of that. I just scoop out the shavings, wipe out the linoleum and put more pine in and good to go.
I finally finished my catawba chicken coop/ark. Check out my BYC page for more pics.
Dan
Have tried everything and cannot get my pics to show on MY BYC Page....well, I guess not everything!! LOL
