If you could create a breed or a variety of a breed, what would you make?

I wanted a Polish Roo with lots of color and a beautiful crest to boot, so I crossed an Easter Egger hen with a white creasted black Polish Roo and got "Spike"! He is colorful alright and much like a game roo but he only has a couple of spiked feathers on his head and no creast... He started...

UPDATE! New pictures of Fuggly who the kids now call "Fabio" But my hubby calls him "Spike" and just loves him! He has trippled in size and works the chicken yard with his dad, Poli! Spike was five months old yesterday and he is calm and very sweet! Spike is part Easter Egger and part...

We are supposed to have 4 female geese... But?

We got our first goose eggs today and right on time!! Three big beautiful eggs! But two of the eggs had the "bullseye" on them when we cracked them open!? I know that with chicken eggs this means they are fertile! We are supposed to have 4 female geese but our crossbeak goose...

We are raising and giving away Polish roos to our neighbors! I have 4 Polish roos in with 24 hens! They work beautifully together, and we have not had the first hint of violence! They all crow and move around the hens without fear and are very protective of the brood! They are not aggressive to...

This is our first Polish roo, Poli! He is the Black and White-capped! His crown of head feathers are short compared to the Blues! Theirs is so long they look like 80's rock singers in a "long hair" band! :)

Fuggly will remain with us! He is very sweet and docile as well but he is a mix and will stay with us! We have some very pretty little Polish hens as well! We have Blues, Golden Laced and the classic Black & White Capped!

Our White Orpington hen (Betty) went broody for the first time at 8 months old. So we decided to let her sit on 5 eggs because this was a first for us as well, and with only one roo and 24 hens the chance of fertilized eggs was slim to none. We did not interfere hardly at all except to move...

    Really mean rooster!

We now have 4 roos and all Polish! They work the yard like hearding cattle (gently) and they do not fight at all! I am totally shocked!!
