Do I have an egg eater?!!

I am so sorry to hear this! I have had chickens for years but my last flock kinda went beserk on me. I had marans, leghorns, and one easter egger, 7 total. They started eating eggs and I could never be sure who it was. I tried fake eggs to discourage them and they actually cracked a ceramic egg...

    Traumatized hen - suggestions?

Perhaps she is just really scared. One of my australorps..who is more like a dog than a chicken was terrorized by a hawk sitting on top of coop screaming and slashing at window. She would not leave coop even to go into enclosed run for three days.

    Integration woes

Hi. I have 2 approx 24 week pullets..a barred rock and a new hampshire red. They are housed in a big coop and a run (with 10sq feet per chicken) with 4 perhaps 12 weekers..a gold laced wyandotte, a silver laced dotte, an easter egger, and a light brahma. They get along great. I have 2 nearly...

Eggs smelling and tasting of chemicals

Maybe you should get drastic and haul out the bark and replace with fresh clean wood chips?? If it was treated to make it less flammable chemicals of some type were used.

Why haven't my chickens laid yet?

My barred rock and New Hampshire red hens are 26 weeks..very happy and healthy but no eggs yet. the BR started with the egg song activity so should be soon. i have other breeds that reliably laid at 24 weeks..they are all different. dont worry!
